Whats the difference? I thought that a Cinematographer is somone who shoots films/cinema kinda stuff and a videographer is someone who produces perhaps wedding films or sports movies?

I've however seen many people call themselves Cinematographers when I would have thouht they are videographers?

Whats your take on this? :D

A cinematographer designs the lighting look and/or the way in which a scene is photographed with which lenses, angles etc in a TV/cinema environment. They might also be referred to as a Director of Photography (DP). Depending on the person, they might also operate the camera in coordination with the focus puller who controls the focus.

A videographer is someone who uses a video camera to photograph an event etc, usually on their own. There is overlap between the terms, but essentially the difference is that a cinematographer/DP designs how a scene will be shot whilst a videographer just documents it.
