Circular polarizer .. or 3D glasses?

They're both just polarized filters, and the glasses work in the exact same way. Has anyone ever tried this, is it practical?

Apologies if this thread has been done to death before, I just got a little excited and was thinking it could work along the same lines as how people use the welding glass as a cheap alternative to an ND filter.

Aha, so I just figured out the major flaw in this concept.

The lenses are too small to mount onto any filter. They don't even fit in my empty 52mm filter.
