circular polarizers

i want to buy a circular polarizer , 2 of my lenses have a 67 mm filter size and my other lens has a 52mm filter size. Do i have to look at buying a cp for both sizes or can i buy the bigger size cp and use it on the smaller lens with a step down ring.

Buy the larger size and use the smaller lens with a step UP ring ie; 52 to 67mm.
Dont buy a cheap filter, there are threads on here about cheap filters if you do a search!

I bought my CPL for my largest lens and used stepping rings to fit my others. Works for me.

thanks for the replies, was thinking of treating myself to the hoya hd as this seems to well thought of just glad i don`t have to buy 2, lol.

Hoya HD is supposed to be one of the best, along with B+W. I got mine through Amazon for a very good price...

The other alternative is to use a filter system like Cokin P, that way you can use the same CPL on all your lenses and also stack filters, for example when shooting static cars for my work I use a ND grad to pull the skies down and a CPL to minimise reflections off the windscreen.
