Hello

i have a few dust marks on my photos i presumed it was a dirty lens but when changing lenses i realised it wasnt, now that they are cleared up.

where would i next look for the dust and what methods can i use to clear it?

thanks

Possibly dust on the anti alias filter in front of the sensor, remove lens, lock up mirror (in your camera menu somewhere) then use the blower from the link in the last post and give it a good blow.

If the spots are still present it needs a wet clean ... READ THIS

hello i have just tried to clean the sensor with a blower but dust is still appearing and dont feel confident enough to try and clean the sensor myself, is there anywhere i could take the camera to get it cleaned rather than sending it off to the manufacturer?

by the way i have a sony a300

thanks

Where do you live...? I know a shop in Bristol, but that's no good if you live in London... :)

thanks but im in Cheshire
OK, I don't know any shops up that neck of the woods, but if you want the details for shop in Bristol just shout. I am sure you could courier it there. I think they charge around £30 for a sensor and focus screen clean.

Hi

i have 2 canon 5d's ... i live in north wales close to chester and last year drove all the way to a place in stoke that was canon recommended by canon ...... cost was around £60 .. as i shoot weddings and both needed cleaning this year i thought bl**dy hell .. £120 + petrol . i have a sensor cleaning kit .. but thought what if i ruin a sensor ..

ok i'll do one and i will still have a working camera for the weddings .. so i went on you tube and read different posts on here and took the plunge and cleaned it myself . having done one i then did the other .... it really isn't as bad as you might think ... just read up and take your time ..

if all fails throw it out the window and contact your insurance

Rog

I just had my 5D sensor cleaned at Calumet in Manchester. £35.00 +vat (which is quite cheap) and they did a first rate job.
