cleaning contacts on lenses

I've heard that either alcohol is good (as it evaporates quickly) or a soft eraser (as found on the end of a pencil)

But not tried either. Yet.
 
A pencil rubber is the easiest. Just make sure you blow off any bits of rubber it leaves behind.

Eeeek,I done that without thinking :eek:

My 24-105 on my 7d is giving me error 01 clean contacts. Tried a dry cotton bud which cleaned a lot but iam still having issues :(

What's the best solution to cleaning lens/camera mount these days?
