Todays weather was stunning 22ºc all the way to the coast, until you are on the beach itself, and the sea fret was all around. You couldn't see the sea and at times you couldn't see the kites either - they were that high it looked as if they were in the clouds with the mist all around. Anyway, it was warm and that's all that matters in June.

Went last year and it was about the only 'duff' weekend of the summer whereas this year was great.

Here's a quick selection, not here for a critique, I know some aren't technically brilliant - anyway,

Pink Flamingo

The cat was HUGE, had to be tied down by a hefty bloke on a chair :D

Another HUGE one, this time a dog

This dragon must have been 50 or so metres long and flew vertical

...and this guy kept a hold of it

Some of these kites were just incredible - how about a spider...

The organisers also asked for children in the audience with soft toys to volunteer them to be parachuted back to earth - here's Winnie having a go

And the whole thing was being filmed too

Well worth a visit to one of these events, there are plenty more up and down the country this year.

There are some amazing colours there and some good shots of them.

How do you find out about these events as I would love to find on somewhere near me when I arent working :)

Thanks very much for that :)

Fantastic! I like the mist, adds a surreal effect to it all.
