Just been advised that CLIIK has been acquired by Hiscox ... current policy to remain until renewal then the policy will change to Hiscox.
Anyone any experience of Hiscox?
 
My house contents have been insured with Hiscox for several years. I like their extensive cover and their terms and conditions (for example there are no specific security requirements, as they trust their customers to take sensible precautions). I also like their customer service - calls are answered by a human located in the UK who knows the products. Cover is not the cheapest, but in my opinion, is good value for money. The third party cover in my house contents policy means I have no need to take out specific golf or cycling insurance and I don't have a specialist photo gear policy as the cover provided under the house contents is as good, if not better than most specialist policies, covering my gear whilst outside the house and even outside the UK for up to 60 days at a time.

I haven't had cause to make a claim so cannot say how they perform in that area, however looking around the 'net suggests they handle claims quickly and fairly. I have the impression they are a solid and trustworthy company.

I have no connection with Hiscox other than being a happy customer.
 
I've been with hiscox for years and unfortunately had to make a few claims. Their loss adjuster was an absolutely arse who gave me Hong Kong prices for my Nikon 24-70 and 70-200 etc. But a quick chat with actual Hiscox customer service sorted that out and they price matched market value with Calumet for me.
