Clikpic or not?

I'm looking to get a small but decently designed website going. I keep going back to the Clikpic site as it seems so easy and I really like some of their template designs.

The only thing is, it seems to show the images quite small when you click on them in relation to the page size, and I don't suppose this is changeable in any way. I also like sites that show the clicked image in a large pop up window (is this Java?).

If anyone has any ideas for other places to host the site I'd be interested in hearing them - I definitely DON'T want to be designing it myself though; I've tried this a couple of times and will stick to just taking the photographs, thank you very much (talk about a dogs dinner)! :D

I use Zenfolio for my gallery hosting.

Its fast, clean, simple and it just works with the minimum of fuss.

Have a look (link in sig) :)

I also have a code that will give a discount if you decide to use them ;)

im having the same trouble and i thought about going to clikpic because its not as expensive as others and like you say "you dont have to build it yourself" but i still havent got round to it as i have no cash in paypal.

I use clikpic, not bad at £35 a year, quite basic but plenty of designs and colours to choose from. Once you get in there are lots of options too, slideshow, paypal links etc. You can also upload a header graphic. They are running a free weeks trial. They will also sell you a domain name .co.uk for £5/year or .com £15/year and unlike some sites the domain name price does'nt shoot up after 1 year.

Nice large images in the slideshow with them without a doubt... I need to mull this over and maybe take the week's free trial from both of them before deciding.

Thanks to all.

I use Photium aswell and is good enough for a standard site. It isnt very Pro looking, but for £150 a year what do you expect ??

I thoroughly recomend them

I use clikpic and its simple to use and cheap the only thing is I dont think you can use google ads on it.

I use Smugmug at present and pretty impressed by it so far.
