Climbing shots - opinions please

A friend asked for 3 climbing photos of mine for his wall, I gave him these to choose from.

He has chosen which ones he wants, but I'm interested to hear your opinions as (mostly) non climbers. His choices will have been influenced by the people in the pictures (either him or friends) and the routes as well as any artistic merit. Your opinions will be more impartial. Interesting to see if you pick teh same 3 as him.

I've made them all B&W as it works very well for grit I think and he wants 3 photos so it will make them more cohesive on the wall.

Points if anyone can name any of the routes....

as for choice, I would say the sky is blown out in 1 so not that one.
2 shows the climbers emotion really well.
although the strugle is obvious in 3 I dont think it shows the climber well.
I prefer 5 to 4 as the climber looks static and stronger, plus it shows how thin that slot is.
6 is mega classic. could you not get him to hold the arete pose
7 is a nice picture, but I never think BFD looks good in photos.
if 8 is also billy wizz, i think 2 is the angled better photo
i really like 9.
so.....2,5,6,9 (but only 6 due to the route)
is that any help, and more importantly how many points? would rman be proud?

The opinion of a definite non climber. I would think showing his face would be a prerequisite.

FJ, very good, but shot 2 is High Street not Billy Whiz and 7 is actually Banana reverse, but obviously no way of knowing that!

My mate picked shots 1, 4 and 6. So some concensus with you.

Shot 1 I like too, quite dark and foreboding architecture (and a big wide crack which he loves). And he took the photo.

2 looks much better as colour, really nice light and bright colours.

3 a bit inelegant to be blown up.

4 and 5, I prefer 5 too, he likes 4.

6 Him climbing a hard route, and unfortunately he never got into the classic Bancroft pose. Too tall to need to I think.

7. Good facial expression, but just not very engaging

8. Again better in colour.

9. Too messy and distracting I think.
