I have been taking photos of my work for a few years to post on blacksmithing forums and these have been just technical type photos. This is my first post on here and my first attempt at taking an "arty" type photo of my work. I am looking forward to your critiques and how I can improve it.

Impressive clock, and everything works well with the image, lighting, exposure etc.

My only niggle is the angle, it appears just a touch flat, perhaps a more acute angle, with some subtle shadows to give more depth.

for me i like the subject " more so now you said you made it " well done on that..

for myself i feel the reflection being cut off spoils it . i would have liked it all in the shot..

just in my opinion though.

im sure someone will be along with some more productive comments soon..

md, I know what you mean about the shadow, the granite tile it sits on is only about 12" square and the shadow would not fit on it. I tried to line 2 tiles up, but they would not sit right. What else could I use for a shiny black surface.

Laminate wood? Like that used for kitchen cabinet doors? Failing that, know anyone with nice kitchen work-tops or a coffee table?

Re. the photo, I think the only real improvements would come from fixing the small tile problem.
