It's spoilt, I'm afraid, by the brightly coloured and messy background. I use a black backdrop, either a 5-in-1 fold-up reflector, or in the case of an overhead like this one, a square of black art paper with a slit on one side - and place it under the flower-head to hide the background detail.

The only way I can learn is by listening.

I agree that the background is a bit messy, I think I was so pleased with the colours that i didn't stand back and look at the whole picture.
