hi I've just been offered both the 240 & 450 canon close up lenses can anyone tell me if these are compatible with DSLRs or just SLR cameras, thanks

You mean the 450d screw in Thingy? As long as the filter thread matches the size of your lens then they will work fine.

hi, 240 & 450 canon close-up lens is all thats written on the boxes, I think these are the predecessors or the current 250d & 500d close-up lenses. I've just bought them on e-bay but haven't received them yet. the reason I have some doubt about their compatability was how few other bidders there was, having won one for £2 and the other for £9, I'm assuming being made by Canon they will fit my 70-300 usm's threads but I don't know for sure, also I am unsure whether the optics are different between lens glass for digital and non-digital as lots of filters I see advertised say for digital cameras. thanks for an advise
