Hi,

Went out this weekend and there were so many of them so took the advantage of shooting some, problem with 1# i could get it to focus on the whole dragon it seemed that it was only focusing on specific parts and it was shame it focused the tail

Hi anda,

Number 2 looks good to me. Are you using auto focus? If so, try manual focus, and rock back and forward to get the focus exactly where you want it. I'm still practising this, but it's easier to get the focus on the eyes that way.

The second shot is really nice. Lovely colours - I've not seen these colours before. It's very difficult to get the focus right on these as the depth of field is so narrow.

Thanks guys, gonna have to try manual focus next time, but the problem was that they were so quick to fly away so had to move the leafs to get to them and shoot quick

Go there about sunset time you'll find they're more settled then.

No2 is beautiful. Try and get your camera lens parallel to the Damselfly so that there is more of it in focus.
