As you say Les, its not macro, but still impressive at that distance.

Thank you Trev, I may go back tomorrow with 105mm macro lens

I shot this @ f6.7 ISO 400 at 1/750th sec

Great shot Les, with some fine detail, and nice colours.(y)

George.

Super image!
As you've shown using long lenses esp. with tubes are a great way of throwing BG clutter OOF.
Nicely done:)

No tubes on this shot just the 600mm end on my Tamron at f6.7 - I do have tubes, maybe I'll take up that suggestion.

Thanks for your comments Rhod

Les ;)

Love long lens macro... tubes is very good idea brings you in closer though you do lose infinity so dont forget its on there when trying to shoot a bird :D

If I'm shooting Birds I use my 12 bore - when Photographing Birds I use my Tamron :p

What's the stated MFD (Minimum Focus Distance) on that Tamron?

Lovely composition and image, btw.

That's what I thought too it's given a really nice out of focus background which shows off the buds nicely :)

Thank you - Robin, I think its 12 feet

Looks good! Did you have to crop?

Stick a dragonfly on top of that and you'd have a real winner ;)

No crop its as shot
