yes mark they put fat on the trees to attract the woodpeckes closer to the hide but they keep their distance at the far end so the little guys make the most of it

Nice shot. I normally use fat balls or suet blocks slices pushed inbetween the bark.

Cracking shot - the detail and colours in the feather are wonderful. Must have a try with slices of fat ball and see what I can get

haha agreed. Was taken in a woodland hide that is looked after by the rangers. The woodpeckers have there very own post with holes drilled into it filled with goodies.
i wonder if that tree is where they wipe the stuff of their hands lol
