Cokin A series or/and Pseries

hey guys just after a little info, planning on getting a cokin A/P series set of filters to try some new things.

Just wondering what the difference is, do A series filters fit in the P series holder, ie are they interchangeable.

if i buy the base P series can i then use A series filters in their ????

the reason for this is i will pick up some basic second hand filters, if i like and all goes well then i will invest in a new set.

The A series are smaller, although you used to be able to get a holder that would enable a series filters to fit a P series holder. You would however have to consider vignetting on lenses with larger front elements.

Im using a 58mm filter size, do you think it would make a lot of difference if i have A series or P ?

I use A filters on my 350D which has 58mm filter size.
