Would these sub zero temperatures affect my camera? I want to take some wintry snaps, outside instead of through the window but I don't want to knacker the camera up. Any advice please.
 
No it shouldn't do. Expect a decreased battery life, and when you bring your kit indoors make sure you get it dried etc, don't just leave it in a bag or what have you, as condensation will be an issue
 
Had mine out on top of a mountain in Val D'Isare last week with temps of -36. Camera will be fine provided......

Leave it in the bag when you first go out so the sudden shif in temperature doesn't cause ctoomuch condensation on the len, likewise when you get back indoors.

Try and keep the batteries warm, keep them in an inside pocket till you need them, the cold eats battery power and you'll find they last a lot less time than usual.

Don't drop the camera in the snow !!

You'll be knackered well before the camera will be. Wrap up and get out there.

Just be careful bringing it back indoors. If possible do put it into your camera bag beforehand - it'll minimise the amount of condensation resulting from going from cold air to warmer air.
When it's slowly returned to room temperature after two or three hours inside the closed bag, open the bag again to let it 'breathe'...
 
i really should take mine out of the boot of the car and leave it in a warmer place :s
