Colour Correction for prints - yes or no?

Silly question, but what exactly happens when you tick colour correction at the likes of colourworld or sams for prints?

Does anyone go for this option?

what happens ? you lose control - I never tick it for my lab and the prints are perfect!

As above. I tried it once, and my prints came back with a completely different colour tone.

THe lab will try and correcty for a skin tone if present. Tried it - hated it!

That's exactly what might happen! I too have never ticked the box for colour correction.

lol well I ended up getting my prints from peak images and was very impressed with the results.

Thought that would be the case, and agree, although I noticed that my last set of prints could have benefitted with a touch more exposure wise... Guess my monitor was a little bright!

I just need to decide on a monitor I want and get it calibrated then all should be good!!
