Colour graded mtb film

I decided to spend some time learning how to colour grade on davinci resolve. I used a LUT to get this effect and had to apply it to the whole clip because I was just sent an unedited full version of the video, I think it works fairly well though. Enjoy.

Is this all done on the free version of Da Vinci or have you got the studio version?

That's done on the free version, there's very few things you can't do on the free version really

I think I'll have a look at that then, I'm guessing it's a steep learning curve..

I didn't shoot it no, my partner Gee did, it's shot on the French/Swiss border near Champery

Resolve has a rather neat feature, Scene Cut Detection. So if you get a fully edited or "baked" version Resolve can look at the video and make some really smart calculation as to where the scenes were cut together. There are several tutorials on the net as to how it works. This way you can take a complete video and go back to individual scenes and grade them separately

The first pass grade hasn't matched the cameras properly so some shots appear quite sat up and blue.

I guessed there would be a feature somewhere, was under a fair amount of time pressure with this one so it was all about compromise! In future we'll do the CC fully pre render
