Combination

Hi,

At present I have a Canon 70-300L Lens would the Canon 24-70L be the Ideal Partner for it, as a two lens Combination, on a 7D.

I'd prefer to have a bit of crossover then a distict break at 70mm. I got a 24-105 f4 L with my 5DMkII and it spends as much time on my 7D as it doeson my 5D. Its had superb IQ and is an ideal length as a walkaround lens.

On a 7D, the ideal partner would be the EF-S 17-55/2.8 IS.

You can cover the 55-70 range with your feet or by cropping. And no, I'm not kidding..

Next in line would be the EF-S 15-85 which while slower than the 17-55 but has a great range and good IQ.

If you want a 3 lens combo, sure go for the 24-70 if you must but then I'll tell you to buy the cracking EF-S 10-22

If you refuse to buy EF-S lenses because you're going to go full frame later, now is a good time to buy a 5D2 and ask again. I rate my 17-55/2.8 above my 24-105/4L though...

Hi,

Have just Sold my 17-55 as the Range did not suit me.
The 17-55 was Wider and also Shorter at the Long End than I would have liked, but the Quality of Glass was very Good.

Thinking that the 70-300L would be the Ideal continuation from the 24-70L.
