This young fella lives on my local river and seems to have decided that the beat through the golf course is his personal domain.
Spending a lot of time head down in the muddy bottom, I don't think it's occurred to him to worry about not being pure white. Taking this against the light didn't help! (Just spotted the dust bunny off his upper beak)

Shame these animals we want to photograph won't pose with the light in the right place, his eye with a spark in would be SO wonderful! But I like the 'attitude' in this!

Never mind the hiss wait till he whacks your leg with those wings.

If you shot in RAW you should be able to recover some of the lighting on the neck and head. You also have the dreaded sensor dust bunnies on the left middle of the frame.

Hi Tikka,

Nice shot with great detail. Could do with being a bit lighter to pull out the detail around the eye and beak a bit more but other than that
