this is a shot of one of my dogs that I am turining into a picture (as opposed to a photo)

I have used the drybrush filter in Pshop to lose the photographyness of it and apllied a border.

For now I have left the bit of mud on her nose as .. well thats misty and if you knew her you would understand. However if yo dont know her...


should i remove the mud or not?

That actually works rather well. The mud is probably more noticeable to you because you know it's there, but I don't find it bothersome.
 
I'd leave it there - it seems to be part of her character!!! Very nice technique as well - well done!

Character is the key and if Misty likes mud on her nose, then it wouldn't be the same without it.
