Yes I think you have the right identification now. Crickets are chunkier and more compact, though some species are a reasonable size.

This is a green cricket I photographed with the wife's old Lumix TZ5, gotta love the DOF you get with a tiny sensor. That's the basic layout for a cricket, the one below is a female, hence the hook for inserting eggs into the soil.

That seems underexposed and flat to me now.
Well, its your image Ben, and you process it how you prefer, but flat is not a word I would use in describing Daniels rendition.
