Compact camera to go with Canon 500D

I'm potentailly looking for a new compact to go with my Canon 500D.

I want a very slim compact, preferably with at least 5 x optical zoom.

Looking to pay somewhere upto £200.


Any suggestions?

I already have a older Panasonic TZ-range. It's not that compact though. Are the newer moels more compact?

I'd really like something that could easier fit in a pocket.
