Compact camera with user settings help needed

I'm going on a short holiday at the end of the month and would like to fit some photography in while I am away. Will only be able to take a compact with me for size and convenience but would like a bit more control than my Sony DSC-W70 allows.
So basically I am looking for recommendations on what to get. Ideally I will be looking at second hand as my money will go further. And looking around the £100 mark.

Sony P200 or Panasonic LX-2 maybe

The lx2 is one that seems to fit the bill. Would the lx3 be a huge difference?
The sony p200 is one I know nothing about, do you have a decent link as the information I have found so far doesn't suggest it offers a lot of control.
