Not sure about xd but with compact flash, they are physically all the same look and size. You can either get them told hold 1gb 2gb 4gb 8gb etc....

Depending on what you're shooting, Sandisk are good, they do reasonable priced Ultra 4gb and 8gb on amazon at the moment.

xd cards were an update for smart media and the predessor to sd, they are quite expensive . i would stick to Comapct flash, but check the maximum your camera can take first.

the max recomended is 2 gig

Cheers Steve

xD cards are tiny and I was always worried that I might fold one in half when my Oly compact worked. CF cards are man sized and feel much more robust. They have been available in sizes from 16MB up to (I think) 64GB and in 2 main types, solid state and microdisk. The Microdisk ones are slightly thicker than the solid state ones and use more power from the camera (if it can take them) since they are miniature hard disk drives. They are also less robust since they are miniature hard disk drives.

Plenty of places stock CF cards (from assorted manufacturers) and I get mine (Sandisk) from 7dayshop, although if you need them in a hurry, there are faster delivering retailers.
