I have just purchased a 7D and after some advice on the best place to purchase C/F cards. Having been a 60D owner i have only bought SD.
I mainly shoot wildlife so what speed/size would anyone recommend. (currently use a mixture of 8 and 16gb SD's.

regards
Steve

I use a couple of THESE in my 7D .. they seem to do the job fine.

I use the same (SD cards) in my Pentax K-5 .. CF cards are a damn sight more expensive though,.

Many thanks Mike, nearly fell off my chair when i saw the price.
Anyway need them so ordered a couple.

regards

Steve

I used a couple of 8GB until recently when I bought some 16GB mainly as I'm doing more video stuff. As regards speed it all depends on whether you are a machine gun shooter or not. I 've use 133x or 20MB speed cards and haven't found them limiting, I can still rattle off 20 shots before it pauses to clear the buffer. If you are trigger happy then you have to bear the additional cost of faster cards. My 16gb Transcends 133x have proved fine for me, including shooting birds in flight.

Cheers Ken. Was not sure about the Transends, i have had 2 failures in the past 2 years, but these were SD's. So will bear them in mind.

I've never had a card failure, but I never delete from the card, just download shots to the PC then replace the card and format the card in camera before re-use, seems to work.

Go to PC World / Currys or Jessops and have a look at the price.
Just make sure there's a cushion on the floor behind your seat when you do! ;)
