compact flash recovery software needed,

Hiya - I accidentally wiped my back-up hard-drive when installing windows once & this saved my backside:

Free? No, but it was more than worth $40 to me!

Before you do anything, backup the corrupt file!

Also, don't rule out the possibility of recovering off the memory card

I'm sure someone will come up with a recovery suggestion for you. In the mean time it might be an idea to run error checking on your hard drive as it may be disk corruption causing the problem. Check your backup is up to date first.

RescuePro from lc-tech.com saved my skin at an event couple of weeks back. $40 although they also have a free download that will recover about 20 files if they're recoverable.

Not used it myself but you could try this, Smart Recovery 4.5 (freeware).

As hughes_jh says, backup the files before attempting recovery.

In the past doing an error check on the assigned drive letter has given me the ability to get back files.

Good luck :)

ActiveUndelete would work a treat on the memory card - all you lose in the first letter of the filenames.

Hi Scott,

I have recently bought some new CF cards and they came with codes to download Sandisk Rescue Pro.

I am going to PM you the website and one of the download codes. You should be able to recover what was on your CF card.

Hope this helps.

Chris :)

PM sent with website and codes to download the full recovery programme.

Well done mate! TPers come to the rescue once again!

This software works a treat!

Scott,
I can confirm that Sandisk Rescue Pro did recover over 200 images on a CF card from my D300 after formatting the card in the camera, all perfect. This wasn't accidental, I saved the files normally first, formatted the card in camera, then put the card in a card reader, started Sandisk, and recovered the lot in a few minutes. I just needed to know what would happen if I really needed it.
Highly recommended.
Good luck.
