Ok. In June I am going to ride across the good ol' US of A on a Harley Davidson. I really don't want to take the 50d due to the weight, size etc. so I am looking for a compact to do the job.

My budget is limited to maybe £350 max and I fancy the idea of GPS and uploading the photos direct to FB etc. I would also like if possible to shoot in RAW. I am maybe foolishly anticipating decent weather so high ISO capability is not something I am particularly bothered about. I would also like it to genuinely be a compact camera that I can keep in my jacket pocket.

At least I am not being specific enough! Lol.

Any recommendations?
 
No GPS i'm afraid but i cannot recommend the Canon G15 highly enough. Superb image quality, great RAW output, hotshoe for canon flash etc, optical viewfinder, awesome macro (1cm close focus even in video mode !) built in switchable ND filter and a very rugged construction. Perfect pocket camera IMO.
 
I think that having GPS is virtually a must. I would love to be able to plot up exactly where the photos had been taken when I get back home. This is the only chance I am going to get to do this and I think that GPS in a camera is designed for exactly this scenario.
 
Well that still leaves lots of choices. GPS compacts are quite prolific in todays market. As already stated the Pannys are good but personally I would put RAW at the top of my priorities. Im not sure if the Pannys shoot RAW. Some of the Fujis definitely do RAW and GPS and from what I have read the IQ on some Fujis is superb.
