compact prime lens (50mm) camera manual focus

Hi there,

I have been using a Nikon D70 + 50mm f/1.8.
I never use any other lens and also do not really care about the high performance of the sensor of DSLR...What I mean is that all I need is a 50mm and a manual mode.

Therefore, i was wondering if there exists a smaller digital camera that could do the same - manual mode and prime lens of 50mm.

Let me know if you can think of anything...

If by manual mode you mean manual focus, then any of the more consumer DSLR's in nikon's line will. The D40,40x, 60, 3000, 3100, and 5000 all require manual focus with your 50 1.8. All should be smaller than a D70/80/90 body size. I had a 50 1.8 on my D40 for a while and it took great images, but was manual focus.

If you mean manual metering, then all of them also offer manual metering assuming the lens is chipped (the 50 1.8 af-d is). Same cameras as above.

If you want the smallest and lightest, then the D40 would be the one.
