I'm after a nice small day bag for trips around the City, walks etc but not sure if I should go Sling or Messenger.

I have tried the Think Tank Retrospective 5 and although it fits everything I want it, it does become a little fat and bulging at the edges.

Kit is D610 with 35/50/85 f1.8 and black rapid strap.

Anyone got suggestions for compact day bags that are no more than £120?

Was thinking about the Think Tank Sub Urban 20 as its just that little bit bigger.

I prefer messenger bags myself. I use Billingham ones. They should do one that fits your lens range if they were to your taste- Or get rid of either the 35 or 50 then you can carry less for the sake of one footstep forwards or back! ;-)

True! Could probably fit in the retro 5 if I just took two lenses!

I have a couple of Crumpler messenger style bags, both very copacious and very far from screaming "Camera Bag"

Billingham are a bit out of my range!

I bought a maxpedition jumbo versipac, very comftable sling type bag and I can fit D810 gripped with a 24-70 attached and room for another lens in the bottle holder.

I bought a Lowepro 17L Nova Sport this week and for the money it seems a very nice bag. It matches my Flipside Sport backpack nicely .http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lowepro-Nov...500&sr=8-2&keywords=lowepro+nova+sport+17l+aw

I have had the TTR7, Crumpler Light Delight 6000 and this bag seems to be a good alternative for the price. I liked the TTR7 but they weigh approx 1.3kgs before you start adding kit. The Crumplers are nice but lacking a little padding for me.

Also, what I like with the Lowepro, the inside can be removed and carried seperately if needed and you then have a plain style messenger bag. Well worth a go @ £25.00 from Amazon, other places are selling them for £60.00.

I can fit my D750 with a Tamron 70-300VC fitted, Sigma 105Macro and room for some other smaller lenses. It also has space for a small tablet.

I had the same problem as you (bulging bag) so looked around but in the end came back to a Retrospective as I couldn't find anything as good.
