Compact / Travel tripods without breaking the bank...

I've moved to a Fuji Xt-10 ( which I'm loving!) but still have a full sized tripod and head ( Vanguard Alto Pro 263 ). I love the small size of the Fuji and I think that the Vanguard, although a great tripod, is somewhat overkill. Ideally id like a tripod that I could fit into a small rucksack along with the camera ( in a case obviously), rather than carrying this one around in its own bag.

There are some lovely travel tripods out there but I really don't want to spend over about £120 ish ( this will come from the sale of the Vanguard and head(s) ). It seems to be that the Manfrotto BeFree is the obvious choice in that range, but are there any others that anyone would recommend?

The Sirui T-005X might be worth a look at £100. I've got the 25X CF one and it's very well made.

Slightly over budget but the 3LT Punks, compact, goes to a decent height and has a good ball-head.

I've had a Sirui T-005 for a week shy of a year now and it's compact and stable enough for an everyday/travel tripod with the Fuji X-series (I use it with an X-E2).

Velbon Luxi L is the one I have. Legs can be a bit of a faff but, once up, it does the job and folds small enough to go in hand luggage.

I tend to use it with a Gorillapod ball head rather than the supplied one where you need to unscrew one of the handles to put it in its case.

Sirui is good. Had mine out on safari a couple of times, covered in salt water, really light and small to carry.

I've been looking at the 3LT Punks Vyv tripod, but for a travel tripod, I keep thinking that This Ebay alternaive would be worth trying.

Take your pick from the numerous 4 section carbon tripods which have a detachable leg that serves as a monopod
Good chance they are all made in the same place, only difference I can see is the coloured ring on the leg locks

Daresay they will all be fine, so just down to personal choice and cost, ballheads look remarkably similar too

If you do want to spend more Gitzo have a promotion on whereby you get up to 100 quid trade in on any old tripod (has to
extend over one metre)
I picked up an old Hama on ebay for a fiver posted just in case the mood takes me. Nothing wrong with
my older model G1158 Mountaineer, but like the look of the newer ones especially the height with
the centre column down

Not used it yet other than assemble it and play about in the house. But heavier than I anticipated and thus making it more stable than I expected.

I'll only be using it with a 7d MKii & 10-24 lens, so weight on it is not that much.

But very impressed with the build quality.
