Compact with optical viewfinder?

I'm considering a new compact to replace my old Canon A530 but I need reading glasses for close up work so don't get on with screens, as the specs are up and down my forehead like the proverbial. What choice of optical viewfinders is there in current compact cameras?

My mother is in need of one of these too, she just can't get used to using a viewfinder after spending most of her years using film cameras.

We had a look down Jessops a couple of weeks back, but they weren't really too helpful and said they're simply not produced anymore.

But that can't be true, surely?

Hope to see some good recommendations in the thread. :)

Canon IXUS have them, not too great though but better than nothing.

Depending on budget, decent compact camera that still has one is the Nikon P6000...... heard ISO performance is little crap.... but overall is pretty good by look of it...

A lot of the last generation Sony Cybershots have optical viewfinders, my W-170 has one and I find it more useful than the screen to be honest in a lot of cases, shame it doesn't show more than about 75% though.

^^ yes as said above, alot of the generations before the latest had optical ones. the w-35 and 55 are recommendations, i brought one and the IQ was really good considering it cost me £100 brand new about 3 years ago.
