Yes
Can anyone tell me if you can use compatible el15 batteries in the D600 or do they have to be chipped ones like in the D5100?
Tried looking on 7dayshop but couldn't find any Dslr batteries on there.

Thanks.

Not sure, but I only use genuine recommended batteries in any of my cameras.
Why spend all that money then skimp on batteries? Seems daft to me.
Also, if you use the wrong battery, and it fries the camera, I bet your warranty wouldn't be worth the paper it was written on.
Just my opinion.

i would also stick to genuine - it might be a million to one chance but look at all these stories regarding li-ion batteries and fires - the postmen won't even deliver them nowadays so do you really want to worry about leaving one on charge for hours by mistake ??

I suppose for an extra few quid is it worth the risk? Didn't realise li-ion batteries were such a problem or the issue with postmen.

Don't know about the d600 specifically but I've used none OEM batteries in all my cameras the cost of the genuine thing is ridiculous!
