hi folk,
going on holiday what would you do about downloading pics, onto a netbook perhaps, or which way to go? is it worth investing in a netbook able to take raw files and small enough to take at least in the suit case.
has anybody got any ideas, experiences, as i see it it's quite a problem when away for a cupple weeks
 
Are you just looking for storage ability? If it's for a few weeks why not get a few more memory cards? Easy enough to keep them separated - used'v'clean....
 
I also think the idea of being able to download a days images on to a tablet etc. would be useful. The 3" screen on a DSLR is just not big enough to assess the quality of your shots. Yes you could buy more cards for storage and look at them when you get home, but it would be too late to possibly re-take shots that you were not pleased with.
The I-pad seems to fit the requirements of downloading raw images straight from the camera but at a high price. Surely there is a market for a 7"-10" screen that is light and inexpensive....forget about the 3G, video watching, book reading, internet games etc., etc.....how about something bespoke for the amateur travel photographer.
