I have just noticed that i have condensation on my lens (internal) after going out in cold but dry weather for 30mins....it is a 400mm 5.6 and only purchased in april this year .....not sure what to do or what methods to help the condesation go ...any help would be apreciated .Thanks

If it's done it once, chances are that it'll do it again.

To reduce the risk, don't take it straight from the cold outside into a warm room. If possible, leave it somewhere where it can gradually come up to room temperature - a utility room or conservatory perhaps? If that's not possible, leave it in the camera bag, possibly with some uncooked rice (to help act as a dessicant) or silica gel sachets until it no longer feels cold to the touch.

To dry it out, leave it somewhere warm and dry, again, with some uncooked rice or silica gel until it's completely clear and dry.

Thanks all for the help.i now have the lens sealed in a bag of rice in a warm room...hopefully it should have cleared in the morning .

Also don't leave this lens for lenghty periods in the dark with the lens caps on if it's got damp issues as this is something that can cause fungal growth

I keep a large sealable plastic bag in my camera bag, when I get to the door my kit goes in it before I go inside so that moisture in the warm house can't condense onto the kit. When it has warmed up I can then take it out of the bag.
