morning,

ive noticed that my batteries for my 20D are not holding their charge for very long anymore.

granted they must be 4 years old now so i could just buy new ones, alternatively is there any way to condition the batteries?

cheers

I don't think with lithion ion tech, they need to be / are required to be as the old Ni-Cads etc used to be - might just be coming to the end of their life :shake:

I recently had one from my 300D that started playing up, first thought was the camera - but got another battery and all sorted

A little tip with li-ion batts,

keep them fully charged and don't let them go dead flat!

Might be the charger?

theyve never been full discharged, bit odd that all 3 seem to be doing the same.

oh well theyre not exactly expensive.

I wish i could say the same for 5DMkII batteries! :'(

hi gary, yup thats exactly right. got exactly the same ones as the last batch were so can prob expect another 3-4 years out of these.. :)

product code i ordered was "PL511S-853" if that helps

cheers neil :)

looks like my Sterlingtek and canon original are starting to reach their end of life - not holding charge for the 2 sterlingtek ones, or not lasting very long (circa 20 shots or so :(

So will order some of those from 7dayshop - seems like they last quite well

yeah mean ive had no problems with them till now so im happy to get some more, theyre higher mAh than the original canons too if i remember rightly. means ive never needed a battery grip when out shooting all day..
