Looks to me as though you are trying to replicate a "classic" Lakes photo

Done a pretty good job too, the first one would work even better for me if the walkway was a little bit lower, so it didn't "cut" the waterline - the horizons have already been mentioned so I won't mention them again

Almost a 'velvia' feel, perhaps not as saturated as velvia but very nice shots.
