hi, since i've had my D90 i've always had the reluctance to up the ISO. I guess its some sort of inbuilt fear that higher ISO's result in poor or grainy images.
I would now say that i have a decent handle on this photography lark (mostly thanks to you lot!), and now to remove blur/camera shake which seemed to be a major factor in 90 percent of my photo's i have liberated the auto-iso function . Setting it up on the D90 is a breeze. Set the minimum shutter speed to something sensible, max ISO (normally 3200) and pop the beast into Aperture priority.
Now i find i can confidently take sharp photo's 99% of the time, but have noticed that the majority of them are at max ISO. I rarely use flash except at home messing around because most of my photography is at outdoor events (dull NE scotland weather), indoors in halls (kids karate) and candid shots here there and everywhere.
I've got some pretty good fast glass , so that isnt' a problem, but although most of my photo's are great and noise at 3200 with the d90 isnt that bad, i just feel that i would seriously benefit from upgrading my body.
Does my eplanation warrant an upgrade to the likes of a D700
and has anyone done the same for the same reasons?
cheers, Al
