Contact lenses and photography

Contacts are so discreet, I can't imagine they would show up.

I'm on the left. It was either a point-and-shoot or an iPhone etc but my contacts are very scarily (given it was Hallowe'en or rather, HallowQueen) visible!
Ordinary daily disposable contacts. Maybe it was just the pure chance of the lighting. I bet I probably couldn't deliberately reproduce this effect in-camera, though. I think it shows that under some circumstances, that yes, 'ordinary' contact lenses can be visible. Or I was possessed.

I went searching for that post. I think the problem is just that the model is wearing coloured lenses (possibly not even for eyesight reasons).

AFAIK /all/ normal contacts are single colour, so any modification would be across the whole of the iris and pupil, and thus quite discreet.

I think that you can get some coloured dioptric lenses, but generally not very strong I think unless you pay hundreds (well it was the last time I checked my prescription).

Also, if they are lenses for eyesight reasons, then I think the model might need to go and have a checkup. Recently I was told that mine were not sitting right (too low), and thus a slightly different curvature was required. Possible the same applies to this model

When I can be bothered wearing my contacts they are difficult even for me to see. I did notice a closeup of someone the other day where I could just see the edge of her lens.

Most contacts are minutely blue so may show up on a photo done very close.

Coloured lenses tend to be party ones for non wearers although my optician did say he could get me some dyed ones.

The only time mine realy showed up was in a room with black light. they lit up like some kind of ghost story, scared the living daylights out of a young woman in Madam Toussauds waxworks in Blackpool LOL.

Cool, what make were they? I have been in a UV room, but no-one has ever commented on my eyes glowing!
