Continuous focus a200

I am wondering if I set my a200 to continuous focus and continuous drive mode and was taking shots of something coming towards me quickly as a car for example does it refocus each shot or retain the original focus from the first shot sorry if this a stupid question

You need to set it to AF-C mode, page 69 of the manual explains it.

I had read that but was unsure as to whether when in continuous shooting mode it refocuses between shots when holding the shutter button down

I think it will attempt to refocus between shots.
Note that for continous drive mode, the rate at which it takes shots is quite heavily dependant on the settings you are using for fiel format and DRO.
JPeg (DRO Off) is quickest
RAW (DRO Off) is next
JPeg (DRO On) is slowest.
