Hi,
So I've got a d40 which I love :D

I want to take a picture of my little whippet running around a field so I thought I'd use the sport mode and the thing so it takes pics as long as you keep the button down. Which worked ok... but the 1st was in focus then the next few were out of focus..
So I thought the next logical step would be the continous focus mode but it says I can't use that in sport mode which seems odd to me because its the mode thats meant to freeze action of moving subjects:thinking:

So if you wanted to take a pic of a moving dog how would you go about (bearing in mind I don't have my head round a dslr properly yet;) )
cheers
alex

I think you will find that sports, portrait type modes are preset with shutter speed etc (I know they are on my canon) and if you want to use continuous shooting you need to be on something like aperture priority or shutter priority mode (I don't know what the letters on the dial are on a Nikon!)

Its not hard to use in one of those and the camera will work out the settings around what you put in. I statred with shutter priority so I knew I would freeze the action but just take the manual out with you and you can try different things with it.
