I have a very simple question that I feel very silly asking but is rather know the answer than feel silly haha

On my 5D II I'm always shooting single shot mode. Focus and re-compose centre focus point. It's worked great so far.

My question is in regards to continuous shooting more (4 frames a second mode). Does the camera focus in-between shots of simply use the focus from image one?

I'm more than sure it just focus locks at the start but wanted to check. Ai-servo mode never works at all for me.

Thanks for the quick answer. That's what I thought.

It's just never seemed to be accurate enough for me, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Normally I am absolutely fine with quick shutter speeds to freeze continuous movement. When I get a 5D III I will be taking full advantage of the focus system though.

But of a tangent but what are you shooting at the moment? (camera wise).

Pair of 5D MK III's.

AI servo set to DOF preview button to make it easy to access quickly.

Not to make a long thread about it but I'm on the fence about 6D vs 5D III. Any thoughts on this topic? Also as it's for shooting weddings I guess I need the dual card slots of the 5D.

I don't shoot dual cards so that isn't an issue for me. The lack of CF on the 6D is though.

For me it's purely ergonomics (the 6D feels tiny in the hand) and the 1/8000th shutter speed you can get on the 5D III that you can't get on the 6D.

Yep I've been back and fourth. It's a good grand cheaper. I shoot very very often outdoors at 1/8000 also. Would I miss it if I had to drop a stop on aperture to compensate.

Think I'll go 5D as my mark II has been so good to me.
