Continuous shot limit on Nikon D300s

Hi all,

went out last night shooting star trails, and set up my d300s in continuous shooting mode and attached a wired shutter release. Set it off to take repeated 20s exposures, and when i came back 90 minutes later, saw r00 on my display, and found when i got back home the camera only took 99 shots.

How can i set my camera up to continue taking shots past 99?

ps had in camera nr off, continuous high selected, manual modeat f2.8 20s, iso 1600, raw compressed nef, manual focus.
 
Yep, same setting here. I guess i'll have to use the intervalometer or longer shutter speeds. I find the intervalometer a PITA.:razz:
