Hi Keith

Whats you budget - thats another :lol:

One of the advantages the spec and reviews say the Mk III gives a better AF, but I'm not sure how much better v the extra cost, hopefully someone who has had / got both will post.

Personnaly, if you can afford the extra, I'd go for the Mk III as a new purchase, but I'm not sure it's worth an upgrade if you already have a MK II

You could try Kerso on here, they are imports from USA I think, but lenses carry international warranty and he has very good feedback / following. And he's normally a good price
 
I thought people were having issues with the new mk3?

Personally I'd go for the mk2, as even if there were no issues with the mk3 its not worth the extra money.
 
Just make sure you put it on a fast enough lens to benefit from the autofocus, otherwise its a moot point about which has faster autofocus.

I think I read a thread on here about it IIRC, and someone was having severe calibration issues with the mk3.

The reviews in general don't rate it higher than the mk 2 but I'm on iPhone at the mo so can't find the link. I think dp review may have compared them side by side?
