converting raw to jpeg

You can save your raw files in any image format once you've opened them in a converter. I would question whether saving in .jpg is the best idea, unless you're going to save a copy and retain the originals. otherwise, why not just shoot .jpg and be done with it?
 
Yes it is possible, what software are you using? Lightroom/Elements/Photoshop CS4/something else?
 
You need to ensure the image is 8bit before you can save as a jpg. Its also wise to keep the raw or a tiff of the original as when ou save to a jpg the image is compressed and lots of data is discarded and iq is a little lower than the original - if you open the jpg again and edit it more data will be lost and the iq will reduce again and again.
