I see a lot of people include a copyright watermark on their photos, some discreet, others less so.
My question is, as I do not include a copyright watermark on my images, does that mean any one can use them without my permission?

No. You automatically own the copyright to images you make unless you have signed an agreement to hand it over to someone.

People do it to try and prevent people using them. Doesn't atop some people though.
 
Id do it if it wasn't such an annoying job - having to manually put it on with PS.
 
I just stick a little ©(name) in lower right or left corner. Only to stop any 'I didnt realise it was copyrighted' comments. Although if they wanted to crop it out they could but they could not deny knowing about copyright. Not a fan of watermarks through the image however.
 
Can you automatically watermark through Elements 9?
 
Watermarks can still be removed if someone is determined enough.:)

That's why I don't try and make the image unusable. My online pics are to advertise my services, if my name doesn't ruin the photo there's more Chance people using it on FB etc will just leave there. Different story if I'm trying to sell the actual image.
