copyright is it worth it ?
Can anyone come up with a quick way to put on copyright on all images
or do i have to do each one individually :help:

Do you mean copyright in the EXIF or a watermark on the pictures?

There are quite a few programs available that will batch watermark a set of images, just do an internet search.

I used Bytescout Watermarking, when I had a PC, which was fee, but I think there is a small payment now.

just to put something on my images before i upload them onto websites
i have been told i should do this
i don't why but that's:shrug: what a pro told me

Try picture shark (free)

www.picture-shark.com

It's what I used for this photo

I'd also look into filling out the EXIF info, I use lightroom personally but I'm sure someone can suggest others.

I think that is far more important, really fill in that exif iptc metadata.

If you put pictures on the internet people will copy them and use them on there websites, others will copy from there.. or print them out .. The outcome being that you will lose all control of your pictures.. You may not be bothered about this.. But if one day you are then its too late...

So how do you get people to see your images ?

You can place a watermark over your images, or post very small images that are pretty much useless to people.

thanks for reply guys
can ii do this in photo shop cs3
why does the exif info need filing out ?

The exif needs filling out as an extra backup. Some unscrupulous people will try to remove a watermark, either by cloning or cropping. The exif information can sometimes be used to identify an images owner if filled in.

A good guide to a watermark is one which is subtle enough to not degrade the image too much but intrusive enough not to be cloned or cropped out. (large with a lower opacity is good)

BTW I use Faststone Photo Resizer, free and easy to use ;)

In CS3 you can define a metadata template with all your standard details in

Name , Contact details ,Copyright and so on.

I then set this up as an action, and had it automatically applied to every image opened. The IPTC part is use by the better news/media companies as it can a lot of useful information

that's a lot of info but i see what you mean if all that info is installed i guess you cant edited!!
so when i dowload image onto hard drive ,as soon as i open file i should fill in the info so if i do any PP then all the info will be there and then if i make any copies they will have the info on as well, and then just use 1 folder with all images on web so can put on copyright, is that the best think to do

thanks
