Yes
Just read a thread about Flickr and decided to ask the question.

Ive seen people copywright there photos in the past, and im assuming they add the text via photoshop. I now plan to do the same with all my images, so...

Whats the best way for me to do this, without spoiling the image?

I hope what ive just said makes sense!!

It depends what type of copyright you want. A text on the edge just with a copyright message, or a watermark across the whole image.

Most image editing programs will enable you to put text on an image, just resize and position.

If it's watermarking you're after then do a Google search for watermarking with Photoshop. You probably know your images are already Copyrighted, the watermark is just you putting the info on your image to inform and dissuade copying.

In Photoshop it can be automated once you have it sorted to watermark lots of images in one go, otherwise you would do it to each image individually, but it takes seconds to do.

With watermarks there is a balance between obscuring the image, and making it prominent enough to dissuade copying. ;) Some people place the watermark to match the image, rather than do it to a batch, so as to optimise the the watermark.

I dont want to watermark any of my images.

And i am aware that i own the image as soon as i take it, i would just like to dissuade people from using my images for profit ect.

Its not a massive issue, i was just fairly curious.

Thanks for the link Jason, it helped.

It doesn't work very well, of course. I still do it though. I add a small copyright watermark to all my Flickr images, in the vain hope that people will pay attention.

I took some photos at a recent free music festival, and uploaded them to Flickr in the usual way. There were a couple of photos of a friend of a friend on there, and she nicked them for Facebook almost immediately.

As it was the sort of event that people would be searching for, in order to nick photos, I decided to ruin the photos by adding a big watermark across the middle.

Here is the friend of a friend's current Facebook profile pic...

:p

However, if I had taken any images that I thought people could make any money from, I just wouldn't use Flickr at all.

I don't post on Flickr at all, but may do one day. You have the copyright regardless of the watermark. I tend to use a watermark as a form of advertising on my fine art photos and only put it across the centre of the image when there is a restricted set of people likely to copy the photo rather than buy it i.e. event photos.
