Cormarants and Petrels

On a recent business trip to the Shetland Islands I got to play with a 70-200 2.8L and these are the shots.
I've never photographed birds before so be gentle! I think they are Fulmar Petrels, but I'm not sure.
Some are quite large crops as the cliffs were a bit distant.

You're right about the fulmars but I believe the dark bird is a shag, a slightly smaller relative of the cormorant.

Ah, thanks. Always get my Shags and Comorants mixed up!
Shetland was beautiful in a remote kind of way. Took a long time to get there!

A good set Mark, was kind of hoping for leach's but a fulmar is good too.

I did see a couple of Oyster Catchers but didn't have my camera on me at the time. And all the Storm Petrels were still out at sea.
I was told that in a months time the place is teeming with birds. Story of my life!
